Fire personnel retrieve decomposed body from septic tank in Sunyani

Sunyani, (Bono), March 07, GNA – The discovery of a nearly decomposed body in a septic tank has thrown the enclave of the Sunyani main garage into a state of shock and disbelief.

The Ghana News Agency (GNA) gathered that personnel of the fire service, retrieved the body of the unidentified young lady buried in a septic tank behind a window at a house at the garage on Friday February 28, 2025.

Confirming the incident to the GNA, Assistant Divisional Officer Grade One (ADO1) Kwame Adomako, the Bono Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said “Last week Friday around 4:30 pm the police came for our assistance to retrieve something from a septic tank at the magazine and the nearly decomposed body of a female was found.

He said preliminary investigations had revealed that the deceased’s boyfriend allegedly murdered and dumped her body in the septic tank on February 10, 2025.

“Our further investigations reveals that the suspect attempted to burn the body after the crime but did not succeed.” he said.

ADO1 Adomako stated that the police had since arrested the suspect (name withheld) who was aiding in investigations, while the body of the deceased had been deposited at a morgue.
