Amenfiman Rural Bank PLC, unveils GH¢500 million Collateral

Kumasi March 13 GNA – The Amenfiman Rural Bank PLC, has unveiled a GHc 500 million collateral- free loan scheme, to support small and medium scale enterprises in the country.

The objective is to enable SMEs have easy access to finance to help boost their businesses and develop the economy.

Mr. Alexander Asmah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Amenfiman Rural Bank PLC, announced this at the annual customer first engagement programme and the launch of the bank’s SME ‘Donkomi Plus Promo’ in Kumasi.

The event was dubbed “Special Time with Customers.”

Mr Asmah said there was the need for the bank to celebrate customers’ loyalty, while enhancing the growth of SMEs.

He said the bank recognised the critical role SMEs played in driving the Ghanaian economy and creating employment opportunities for the youth.

He pointed out that, the robust risk management strategy of the bank had enabled it achieved an impressive non-performing loan ratio rate of just 1.79 percent in 2024

Mr Asmah said the bank, through effective collaboration with the Development Bank Ghana (DBG), had engaged and supported many women in their business operations.

Dr Tony Aubynn, Chairperson of Amenfiman Rural Bank, said there was an urgent need for stronger financial support for SMEs and MSMEs to help lift the country’s economy.

He said the recovery of the economy was the responsibility of all financial institutions, and this could be achieved through sustainable support for SMEs and MSME.

The bank was prioritising helping agricultural production, agri – businesses, hospitality, and ICT industries, adding that, it was committed to transforming the country’s economy and become instrumental in changing business to ensure sustainable national development.
