Actress Myna Otto celebrates women’s day with Muslim women in Accra

Accra, March 13, GNA-Veteran Ghanaian Actress and CEO of Mynegy School, Myna Otto, has marked International Women’s Day in celebrating with over 200 Muslim women at the Abossey Okai Central Mosque.

The event, held after the breaking of the fast, brought together women from the community in an evening of unity and generosity.

Myna Otto and her team of fellow creatives provided fruits, water, and biscuits to the women, demonstrating solidarity and goodwill during the sacred period of Ramadan.

The gesture was received by attendees, who gathered at the mosque to commemorate the occasion with her.

Speaking on her decision to celebrate with the Muslim women, Myna Otto emphasized the importance of unity and mutual respect between different faiths in Ghana.

“Ghana is a country where Muslims and Christians live in harmony, respecting and supporting each other. I wanted to use this opportunity to honour my Muslim sisters on this special day, recognizing their strength, resilience, and the vital role they play in society,” she said.

Imam Adam, the spiritual leader of the mosque, expressed gratitude on behalf of the community, praising Otto for her kindness and urging Ghanaians to adopt a spirit of care and generosity. “Ramadan is a period of reflection, devotion, and righteous living,” he emphasized.

“It is a time for Muslims to practise self-discipline, offer charity, and strengthen their spiritual connection with Allah.”

Following the shared meal, the congregation prayed for Myna Otto, offering blessings for her generosity and asking Allah to replenish and prosper her.

The moment underscored the essence of Ramadan—a time for selflessness, gratitude, and communal harmony.

One of the women in appreciation to Myna Otto’s initiative highlighted the power of cross-cultural unity and philanthropy and reinforcing the importance of supporting and uplifting women and communities beyond religious and social divides.
