Accra, Oct. 31, GNA – The Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants (CIAMC), Ghana, has urged newly inducted members and management professionals to uphold high standards of professional conduct, continuous learning and innovation to strengthen organisational performance and national development.
Mr Samuel Mawusi Asafo, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CIAMC, said professional qualifications must be complemented by continuous professional development, ethical conduct and practical experience to enable practitioners to respond effectively to the changing business environment.
He made the call at the Institute’s 25th anniversary celebration, which featured a graduation ceremony, induction of new members, a grand durbar, and fellowship.
He said the Institute remained committed to improving its training programmes, expanding professional development opportunities and providing students with the knowledge and practical skills required to excel in administration and management consultancy.
Mr Asafo said the Institute considered human resource development essential to national stability, economic growth, and institutional effectiveness.
He urged practitioners to embrace continuous learning, saying professional excellence required consistent effort to update knowledge, improve skills, and adapt to developments within their respective industries.
“Professionalism is not something you acquire and keep for life. It is something we must work towards every day,” he said.
He said continuing professional development was particularly important as more people acquired similar academic and professional qualifications, making practical competence and specialised knowledge important distinguishing factors.
Mr Asafo encouraged the newly inducted members to remain actively involved in the Institute’s activities and uphold its professional standards.
He said the Institute, as a professional body established by law, had regulatory responsibilities and could sanction members found guilty of professional misconduct, including suspension from practice or removal from its membership register.
He said the Institute would continue to strengthen its programmes to produce administrators and management consultants with the competence and integrity required to support organisations and national development.
Mr Asafo congratulated the graduating students and urged them to apply the knowledge and experience acquired during their training to address organisational challenges.
He subsequently declared the induction ceremony duly constituted and invited the Institute’s leadership to present the Chief Executive Officer’s report.
In a related address, Ehunabobrim Prah Agyensaim VI, Board Chairman of CIAMC, said the Institute was expanding access to professional training and membership opportunities to develop a wider pool of qualified administrators and management consultants.
He said the Institute was working to extend its professional training programmes beyond existing centres to reach more people across the country.
He said the Institute currently operated 12 training centres nationwide and collaborated with five tertiary institutions to strengthen professional education and training.
The Board Chairman said the Institute’s approach went beyond awarding certificates to equipping practitioners with practical skills for effective problem-solving in workplaces and organisations.
He said the objective was to develop professionals capable of responding to emerging workplace challenges and contributing meaningfully to organisational and national development.
Mr Agyensaim congratulated the graduating students and inducted members, describing their achievement as the outcome of their dedication, perseverance and commitment to professional development.
He urged them to apply their newly acquired knowledge and skills with confidence and integrity in their respective workplaces.
The celebration formed part of activities marking the Institute’s 25 years of contribution to professional administration and management consultancy in Ghana.
