Yussif Issaka Jajah appointed Deputy Tourism Minister

Accra, Feb. 6, GNA – Mr Yussif Issaka Jajah, the Member of Parliament, Ayawaso North Constituency, has been appointed by President John Dramani Mahama as the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts.

He takes over from Mr Mark Okraku-Mantey, who held the position during the second term of the President Akufo-Addo-led Administration.

Mr Jajah, born on October 21, 1979, hails from Bole in the Savannah Region of Ghana.

He holds an MBA in International Oil and Gas Management from the University of Dundee in Scotland, United Kingdom, in 2011, and a BSc in Accounting from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), in 2009.

He holds an MPHil in Development Finance, and MSc in Energy Economics from GIMPA, and a certificate from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ghana.

The three-term member of parliament, prior to venturing into politics, was a research fellow at the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation in Accra from 2013 to 2016.

He also worked as a consultant in the oil and gas sector between 2011 and 2012, collaborating with MDPI and Goodwill International.

Mr Jajah will support Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the Minister, in driving initiatives that promote Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and creative industry.

He is expected to bring his extensive research and consultancy experience into the tourism, hospitality and creative arts sector to shape policies to enhance Ghana’s global cultural appeal.
