Kwabenya (GA/R), Feb. 14, GNA – The Team CSR Ghana, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) with funding support from Mr Noel Washington, an American philanthropist has donated bunk beds and mattresses to Motherly Love Orphanage at Kwabenya in the Greater-Accra Region.
Mr Jonathan Akuamoah, Chief Executive Officer of Team CSR Ghana, said Mr Washington and his friends, and family have since 2020, been in a continued support for Motherly Love Orphanage Home through him as their commitment and dedication to his organisation.
He said aside the beds and mattresses the philanthropists have also paid the children’s school fees, donated food items, clothing, and medicine to facilitate the healthcare of the Human Immune Virus/ Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) infected children in the Home to bring joy and hope.
” The joy and the hope given to these children will make a lasting impact on them and that God will bless all who have contributed to it,” he said.
Mr Akuamoah said Team CSR solicits support from other well-meaning individuals and charitable organizations for the Home as part of its corporate social responsibility to the children, and he is therefore urging all and sundry to eschew the myth of the disease and put their shoulders to the wheel.
Reverend John Azuma, Founder of the Motherly Love Orphanage Home was grateful for the donation and said, ” together we can raise up the vulnerable orphans to become prominent persons to contribute meaningfully to the economic and social growth of the country.”
The Home was established in 2008, and registered under the Registral General Department, and Social Welfare Department of Ghana, to accommodate HIV infected orphans who had been abandoned by their families and communities, he noted.
He called on the public to stop stigmatisation and discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS.
” We should pay attention to these young ones living with HIV to curb the disease transmission and I am therefore appealing to all and sundry including pharmaceutical companies to donate Anti-retroviral drugs to the Home,” he emphasized.
” The Orphanage has acquired land at Shai Hills – Doryumu, and needs financial support to construct a building that can serve as a permanent place for these young ones,” he noted.
