Gomoa Gyamang (C/R), Feb 12, GNA – The Nya Nkwa Oye Herbal Center has completed processes to establish an Oil processing factory to produce oil in large quantities to help create the enabling environment for jobs to the unemployed youth at Gomoa Gyamang and beyond.
Mr David Otoo, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nya Nkwa Oye Herbal Center disclosed this to the media at a durbar to climax the 2025 ‘Home Coming” festival of the people of Gyamang in the Gomoa Central District of the Central region.
The ‘’Home Coming’’ event organised by the youth in conjunction with the Chiefs and opinion leaders, was to raise funds to support development projects at Gomoa Gyamang.
The CEO said a budget of more than GHC120,000 had been made to procure three sets of machines to start the processing of palm fruits, copra, and palm kennel into oil in large quantities.
Mr Otoo said ‘’the best thing to do is to go into large scale production to create employment space for the teeming unemployed youth to improve their living standards.’’
The CEO, who chaired the function said setting up of the company at Gomoa Gyamang was to leverage on availability of palm fruits, dry coconuts, and palm kennel in and around the town to feed the factory.
He called for business development partners to support the procurement of logistics like vehicles that could be used to carte raw materials to the factory site to enhance production.
He said there was no factory from Gomoa Central to Apam-Junction in the Gomoa West, adding that it was therefore incumbent upon individual business groups and many others to start something instead of looking up to the government all the time.
Mr Otoo said if the oil factory were established, it would at least create 300 jobs for the youth in and around Gyamang community to reduce economic hardship.
He said there was the need for the inhabitants and other individuals who were business minded and with huge financial muscles to come together to open companies to absorb the unemployed youth in the Gomoa Central District.
Mr Otoo said it would not be possible to rely on the MP or the Central government alone for jobs all the time, but individuals could get on board.
On the Home Coming, the CEO urged well-to-do citizens of Gomoa Gyamang to contribute their quota towards planned development projects initiated to give the town a deserved facelift.
Mr John Kobena Gyesi, Assemblyman for Gomoa Gyamang touted plans in place by youth leaders to help unlock the talents of school children in the area to assist them to nurture their talents.
He said the Home Coming event was to help mobilise resources to champion the education of the kids in the area and therefore charged parents to invest heavily in their children.
