Twifo Praso, Feb. 06, GNA – An altercation between New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives in the Twifo Atti Morkwa Constituency in the Central Region, turned bloody when Mr Kwadwo Debrah, the Constituency Youth Organiser, brutally bit off the finger of Mr Frank Kwaku Baah, the Polling Station Secretary.

The bizarre attack led to Mr Baah’s hospitalisation at the Twifo Praso Government Hospital due to the severe bleeding.

The incident occurred during a meeting with the NPP national leadership, who were investigating the party’s overwhelming defeat in the Election 2024.

The Party’s leadership committee which aimed to identify factors that contributed to the loss, has also been tasked to recommend strategies for rebuilding the party.

Mr Baah explained that during the meeting, some polling station executives criticised the constituency executives for the defeat and that was when Mr Debrah, alias “Last Two” who was unhappy with some comments made, attacked him, slapping him from behind and ultimately biting off his finger without provocation.

Mr Baah has called for justice, stating that he had been left maimed.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, he said “I’m still in shock and pain and I demand justice for this heinous act.

“The party must take action against Debrah and ensure that he faces the consequences of his actions,” Mr Baah said.

The case has been reported to the Twifo Atti Morkwa District Police Command for further investigation, but no arrest have been made yet.

The police promised to investigate the matter thoroughly and bring the perpetrator to justice.

The incident has sparked outrage within the party, with many calling for Mr Debrah’s immediate suspension.

The party’s national leadership is yet to speak publicly about the incident.
