Stuttgart, Feb 7, (dpa/GNA) – German police are investigating a trainee paramedic who is alleged to have poisoned several colleagues with prescription medication, at an ambulance station in the south-western city of Ludwigsburg.
The trainee, who was 23 years old at the time, is suspected of spiking her colleagues’ drinks during duty hours, police and prosecutors said on Thursday.
The colleagues, aged 53, 29 and 25, were treated in hospital, having suffered “significant health complaints,” which in one case were life-threatening, investigators said.
The offences are said to have taken place between October 2023 and April 2024. The suspect was detained at the end of January, and brought before a judge, investigators said.
She is accused of attempted murder in four cases, and is being held in custody.
The authorities said extensive investigations had led to the young woman, but no further details were provided. The woman’s motive remains unclear.
