Mr Benard Ahiafor, the Chairman of the Appointments Committee of Parliament , has suspended vetting for two minutes to discuss the bribery allegations privately.

Mr Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, a Ranking Member on the Appointments Committee of Parliament, has appealed to the Chairman of the Committee to suspend vetting temporarily and go into conclave to discuss the matter and chart the way forward.


Mr Bernard Ahiafor, the Chairman of the Appointments Committee of Parliament, has appealed to the Minority Caucus on the Committee to reconsider their decision to boycott today’s vetting because of service to nation.

Mr Frank Annor-Domprey, Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri and Minority Chief Whip is insisting that vetting should be suspended until the allegations of bribery is resolved.

Some members of the Minority Caucus on the Committee have called for a boycott of today’s vetting of ministerial nominees until Mr Oliver Barker-Vormowor provides evidence of bribery against members of the Committee.


Accra, Jan 28, GNA – Mr Bernard Ahiafor, the Chairman of the Appointments Committee of Parliament , has directed the Clerk to the Committee to invite Mr Oliver Barker-Vormowor, a political activist and a Co-Convenor of Democracy Hub, to appear before the Committee tomorrow, January 29, to provide evidence of his allegations of bribery against members of the Committee.
