I will reset our region and unlock its full potential – Regional Minister-Designate

Ave-Afidenyigba (V/R), Jan. 20, GNA – The Volta Regional Minister-Designate, Mr. James Gunu, has pledged to work relentlessly to reset the Volta Region and unlock its full potential if approved by Parliament.

Mr. Gunu emphasised the importance of unity and collective effort, assuring the people of the region that their support would be instrumental in addressing the challenges they face.

He made these remarks on Sunday, January 19, during an interaction with elderly members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Ave-Afiadenyigba in the Akatsi North District.

This was part of his district tour to officially announce his nomination and engage with stakeholders ahead of his parliamentary vetting.

The tour began with a visit to Wlitey, where Mr. Gunu held a brief but meaningful meetings with community elders and members to discuss his nomination by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.

Subsequently, he visited Nudowukorpe to interact with the local NDC branch and the wider community, personally informing them of his nomination as Volta Regional Minister-Designate.

At Ave-Afiadenyigba, Mr. Gunu met with elderly NDC members, expressing gratitude for their steadfast support and sacrifices for the party.

He assured them, saying, “With Parliament’s approval, I will work tirelessly to reset our region and unlock its full potential.”

He also presented them with token gifts as a gesture of appreciation for their commitment to the party and the region.

Later in the day, Mr. Gunu met with the Akatsi North Constituency Executives and engaged in discussions with chiefs. These interactions focused on his nomination and other matters critical to the region’s development.

His tour continued with a visit to the Regional Office of the NDC, where jubilant party members celebrated his nomination. The day concluded with a meeting involving all 18 NDC Constituency Chairpersons in the Volta Region.

Mr. Gunu expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all for their support, prayers, and encouragement. He assured them, “Together, we will achieve great things for our region and our nation.”

The communities, he visited, expressed their joy and appreciation to the President for nominating someone from their district for such a prestigious position. They also pledged their support and prayers for his parliamentary approval and subsequent efforts toward regional development.

Mr. James Gunu, currently the Volta Regional Secretary of the NDC and a former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Akatsi North, is set to appear before the Parliamentary Vetting Committee on Thursday, January 23.

He was accompanied on his tour by the Akatsi North Constituency Secretary of the NDC and other constituency executives.
