Sekondi, Jan. 22, GNA – Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), particularly grassroot supporters, have been advised against forcefully taking over properties and businesses without recourse to lay down procedures.

Nana Toku, the Western Regional NDC Chairman, told journalists at the close of vetting on Tuesday, that many good things happened with time and so party faithfuls must be guarded by this truth and stay calm.

The Regional Chairman was responding to a question on why party members fight over sanitary facilities, market tolls and other income generating ventures within the Assemblies as personal rewards.

Nana Toku said, self-aggrandisement and reward should not be the focus of the members of the Party, saying … “We appreciate your toil for the party and the massive results in Election 2024 but let us wait patiently and allow due processes to take place rather than denting our image as a Party by fighting for these things”.

The vetting saw 135 individuals interviewed for the position of Chief Executives Officers across the Region.

The five-day exercise had been described by most of the contestants as free, fair, non-discriminatory and smooth.

The three districts that underwent the exercise to end the whole process were; Shama, Wassa East and Tarkwa-Nsuaem.

All the contestants interviewed shared a common vision of improving on infrastructure, roads, market, water sources and job creation among others as part of the resetting Ghana agenda.

Mr Ebenezer Cobbinah from Tarkwa who described the Tarkwa -Nsuaem seat as a borrowed seat, believed that his tenure as Municipal Chief Executive, would help keep the seat through tactical and strategic approach.

Madam Adiza Muhammad, an Educationist, hoping to represent Shama as the District Chief Executive, said she would fix many of the needs of women in the area.

Mr Felix Machott, a Chartered Financial Economist and Fraud Analyst, was optimistic of upscaling the livelihood of the inhabitants of the Wassa East.
