Dambai (O/R), Jan 3, GNA – Hundreds of revelers at Dambai, the Oti regional capital, ushered in 2025 with a musically loaded event staged on the Volta River Authority Pontoon.
The programme, which has become a major attraction in the area, drew multitudes from all social classes, eager to have a feel of the cruise while others just wanted to catch a glimpse of the spectacle.
The pontoon, usually a hub for ferry services, was transformed into a viewing platform, with revelers packed into the vessel and treated to good music, food, and beverages.
On the food menu were jollof and fried rice, fufu, banku, kebab, and grilled chicken and guinea fowl.
As the pontoon emerged, the crowd erupted into cheers and applause, with many taking photos and videos to capture the spectacle on the destination side.
The spectacle has become an annual event in Dambai, attracting visitors from across the region, who wanted to catch a glimpse of the musical cruise that touches Kudorkope, an island destination.
The pontoon party on River Oti got off to a thrilling start, thanks to the electrifying performances of DJs Misty and Polar.
The two DJs took turns to entertain the participants, spinning tracks that got the crowd moving and grooving as they cruised along the river.
With their expert mixing skills and infectious energy, DJs Misty and Polar kept the party vibes going throughout the evening.
They played a diverse range of songs, from popular Ghanaian hits to international chart-toppers, ensuring that there was something for everyone to enjoy.
The crowd, made up of locals and visitors alike, sang along, danced and waved their hands in the air as the DJs worked their magic.
The atmosphere was electrifying, with the beautiful scenery of River Oti providing a stunning backdrop to the festivities.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the organisers, Exodus Events, expressed delight at the overwhelming patronage.
Mr Silvester Fomenya, the Public Relations Officer, Exodus Events, said the turnout exceeded their expectations, attributing the success to the hard work and dedication of the organising team and supporting partners.
“We are already thinking about the 2026 event,” he said.
Many of the revelers, drenched in sweat due to overindulgence, told the GNA that they were already salivating for next year’s programme as the pontoon cruise has hit impressive zenith.
