Adidome (V/R), Jan. 16, GNA – Mr. Edison Mawuli Totime, one of the 27 applicants vying for the position of District Chief Executive of Central Tongu, has withdrawn his application.
In a press release, copied to the Volta Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Totime stated that he had decided to step down from the race to throw his support behind the eventual winner.
Despite believing he had the capabilities to effectively execute his vision for the district, Mr. Totime said he had chosen to put the interests of the district above his personal ambitions.
Mr. Totime assured the people of Central Tongu that he would continue to support the development and growth of the district.
He also expressed his commitment to working tirelessly to ensure that the district thrives and prospers.
The President, John Dramani Mahama, will now have to choose from the remaining 26 applicants to fill the position of District Chief Executive of Central Tongu.
