Cape Coast, Jan. 16, GNA – The Parents Association of Adankwaman Senior High School in the Assin South District. has donated 100 dual desks to address furniture shortages hindering education.
Mr David Desmond Takyi, the Chairman of the Association, presenting the furniture, emphasised their continuous support for the school with the aim to enhance teaching and learning.
He was concerned about the lack of adequate furniture, calling it a threat to quality education and called for a collective action from government and corporate bodies to address the need.
Mr Takyi also encouraged students to take their studies seriously and read extensively, to broaden their knowledge.
He reminded the students that examination questions were set in the English language, which one had to read to understand before answering them, therefore reading widely would help them to excel in their examinations.
“Taking interest in reading would build your vocabulary and make you pass your examination,” he stressed
Nana Barfour Adjei, the Headmaster of the school acknowledged the significance of the donation, while highlighting urgent infrastructural needs, including water supply and classroom space.
Some students expressed their gratitude for the relief the desks provided had brought during classes hours.
