Kumasi Jan. 17, GNA – The Ashanti Regional Secretariat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced interviews dates for applicants seeking positions as Chief Executives for the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDCEs).
The interview, which is scheduled for January 16 to 19, 2025, will involve 335 applicants seeking the 43 MMDCE positions in the region.
A statement issued by Dr Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC and made available to the Ghana News Agency, said the announcement was part of the party’s commitment to selecting competent and dedicated individuals to represent the NDC in local governance.
The statement said the interviews scheduled to take place at the party’s regional office, assign specific dates to different districts and municipalities across the region.
The party emphasized that the interview process was an essential part of selecting individuals, who will uphold the values of the NDC, ensure the implementation of its policies, and work diligently to improve the welfare of the people in their respective localities.
Aspiring MMDCEs are expected to demonstrate leadership capabilities, deep understanding of local issues, and their commitment to the party’s vision during the interviews.
The party also reminded all applicants that the selection process would be rigorous, and only those who met the party’s high standards of governance and dedication to public service would be chosen for the positions.
The statement said Ashanti region will play a crucial role in the party’s strategies for the upcoming local government elections.
With the region’s political landscape gaining significant attention, the NDC was determined to ensure that only the most qualified and passionate individuals represented the party at the local government level.
It pointed out that the process was expected to be a critical step in shaping the future of the NDC in the Ashanti Region and ensuring that the party continued to provide strong leadership at all levels of government.
