Tema, Dec. 18, GNA – The United Cadres Front of the Tema Region has pledged its full support for the president-elect and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) towards the total transformation of the country.

The cadres, in a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said, “The Cadres of the NDC, as the birthing core, protagonists, and mentors of the first modern effort to revolutionise and modernise Ghana, hereby pledge our full support and participation in this, our new revolution, as evidenced by the massive electoral victory in the march forward to create together the Ghana that can be ours as a people.”

They congratulated the President-Elect, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, and the Vice President-Elect, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman, for leading the NDC to the historic victory.

According to the cadres, the massive electoral victory is a clear and urgent message from Ghanaians that they have suffered long enough from the arrogance and self-seeking of the outgoing government and politicians in general.

They added that it was meant to show that Ghanaians would no longer tolerate such unpatriotic conduct by the political class, adding that “Ghanaians have cast this instructive electoral vote against the outgoing government to state that future political miscreants will face a similar ignominious exit as has been meted out to the NPP.”

It added that “in essence, this electoral victory by the NDC must serve as a warning to all existing and aspiring politicians that never again should the political class take lightly the mandate that the people have conferred on them.  It can never be business as usual again, going forward.”

The cadres stressed that the NDC must recognise that they were going to serve as the test case against which all future governments would be measured, adding that the party must work in unity to harness all its experienced and proven intellectual human assets, with the needed oversight, to have a strategic formation to reset the country in the interest of the people.
