Techiman, (Bono East), Dec. 28, GNA – Twenty babies were born in the Techiman Holy Family and Kintampo Municipal Government Hospitals in the Bono East Region in the Christmas festivities.
However, one of the babies died at the Kintampo Government Hospital, the Ghana News Agency (GNA) learnt during a visit to the facility.
In an interview, Madam Memuna Seidu, Midwife in-charge of the Techiman Holy Family Hospital told the GNA the facility welcomed nine babies (eight girls and a boy) in the yuletide.
She said the Kintampo Government Hospital also recorded 10 births, comprising six girls and four boys.
“It was welcoming and exciting moments for the mothers,” Mad Seidu stated, and urged the mothers to take proper care of their babies and endeavour to attend post-natal clinics regularly.
She expressed the hope that with proper care and attention, the babies would grow to become useful adults.
Some of the nursing mothers told the GNA they were highly elated, saying babies were societal gifts from God, and called on everybody to contribute to the proper upbringing and development of children.
