Satellites Coach to assess players ahead of CAF Under-20 AFCON 

Accra, Dec. 30, GNA – The National Undet-20 team, the Black Satellies will from January 3, 2025, commence the assessment of selected players across the country for the CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’ Ivoire next year.  

The team is expected to start camping with a total of 35 players invited by Head Coach Desmond Ofei. 

The camping, which would end on January 9, would be held in Hohoe, with the Hohoe Sports Stadium as the training venue. 

The invited players were drawn from Ghana Premier League clubs for assessment. 

According to the GFA, a new set of players drawn from Division One clubs would be announced for assessment from 10th-15th January 2025. 

A statement from the GFA said Coach Ofei and his technical team are focused on identifying talented players within the local league to supplement the team’s current pool of players. 

This assessment is part of the technical team’s ongoing efforts to ensure that the best possible squad is selected for the CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be staged in Cote D’Ivoire from 26 April to 18 May, 2025.
