Accra, Dec. 7, GNA – Mr. Daniel Yaw Domelevo, the former Auditor General, was among the first to vote at the St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church Polling Centre in the Krowor Constituency.
He arrived around 0630 hours and completed voting by 0742 hours, expressing his satisfaction with the process.
“We’ll be travelling today but the first thing I have to do, even before eating, is to vote…Nothing comes between myself and my right to vote.
“I hope all polling stations are peaceful and calm as we have it here…It’s voting and not fighting so we must respect the will of the people.” he stated.
Voting started at 0725 hours at the Centre.
Mr. Paul Anamde, the Presiding Officer at Polling Station 2 of the St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church Polling Centre, attributed a slight delay in the voting process to the late arrival of some election materials.
However, the security personnel were present, and everything proceeded smoothly.
At the SK Ayinor Polling Centre, voting officially began at 0705 hours.
By 0755 hours, 15 voters had already cast their ballots.
Iddrisu Eliasu, one of the early voters, arrived at around 0545 hours to ensure he could vote before heading to work.
Mr. Anthony Kwame Oyagbenro, the Presiding Officer at Polling Station 2A (SK Ayinor), reported that all election equipment were functioning well at the start of the polls, and there were no complaints from the polling agents.
Security presence was visible at the polling stations, and the election process ran smoothly at all the visited centres.
