Accra, Dec 20, GNA – An Accra High Court has adjourned to January 27, 2025, the case in which Safina Mohammed Adizatu is being held for allegedly murdering her Canadian boyfriend.
The court presided over by Justice Mrs. Kizita Koowah Quarshie was to empanel the jury so that trial would begin.
However, when the matter was called, the trial judge indicated that she was given instructions indicating that empaneling the jury could not be done till January 2025.
She therefore urged parties to take a date.
The matter was therefore adjourned to January 27, 2025.
Safina aka Safina Diamond, a student is being held for over the murder of Frank Kofi Osei, a Ghanaian Resident in Canada.
Charged with murder, Safina has pleaded not guilty, and she is on bail
During today’s proceedings, Prosecution was led by Mr. Isaac Wilberforce Mensah, a State Attorney and Mr. Baffour Gyau Bonsu Ashia held the brief of Samuel Alorsu Dordzie for the accused,
Prosecution’s case was that on Sunday July 24, 2022, Frank Kofi Osei, who was on vacation in Ghana, visited Safina, his fiancée at her residence at Ashalley Botwe School Junction and decided to spend the night with her.
It said Safina together with her accomplices in the night, stabbed Osei with a knife and strangled him
Prosecution held that Safina and her accomplices, who are large, cleaned up the blood from the floor and they left the body in the room for 24 hours.
The body of the deceased was dragged from the first floor of the building through the staircase and at the gate of the house, where Osei had parked his vehicle.
Safina placed a call to the police alleging that her boyfriend had died in her room.
When the Police arrived, they found Osei’s body lying at the gate of Safina’s house.
Investigations led to the arrest of Safina.
