Jospong Group’s Executive Chairman urges peaceful elections in December

Accra, Nov. 29. GNA – Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, Executive Chairman of Jospong Group, has emphasised the importance of peaceful elections, as the nation prepares for general election on December 7.

Speaking at the Group’s Annual Thanksgiving Service in Accra, on Friday, Dr. Agyepong urged citizens to comport themselves and exercise their right to vote peacefully.

The service themed: “Jesus Christ is More Than Enough”,reflected on the company’s journey.

It was used to express appreciation to patrons, and seek God’s guidance for the years ahead.

Dr. Agyepong emphasised the essence of peace to sustainable growth and development, adding that Ghana must remain intact after the polls.

“Let’s ensure that Ghana remains the shining star, hope and progress and the beacon of stability in Africa. We have done it and we can do it again,” he stated.

“Ghana is the only place we can call home so let’s cherish and commit to growth and prosperity.”

The Executive Chairman thanked the board, management, staff, business partners, and the government, for thesupporting the Jospong Group and Zoomlion Company Limited over the years.

Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, encouraged citizens to exercise their franchise peacefully, emphasising “equality” at the ballot box.

He cautioned against acts of violence, stressing that “no life should be lost during this election.”

“You and the President of the Republic are equal before the ballot box. He has one vote and so do you….Exercise your franchise peacefully and leave the polling centre,” he pointedout.

“You can come back and be part of the counting and collation when the time is right,” he added.
