Accra, Nov.20, GNA – A total of 24 nations have qualified for the 2025 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be held in Morocco.
The roster for next year’s competition was completed yesterday after final day six matches with Mozambique clinching the final spot.
Aside hosts Morocco, some heavyweights, including Senegal, Algeria, Egypt, and title holders Côte d’Ivoire, have booked a spot at next year’s competition.
Other countries who booked qualification include Zambia, Mali, Zimbabwe, Comoros, DR Congo, Angola, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Uganda, and Botswana, among others.
Some notable absentees are Ghana, who will be missing the competition for the first time in 20 years, as well as Guinea, who narrowly missed out on qualification.
