Accra, Oct. 1, GNA – Theovision, a non-profit Christian organization, has donated medications and equipment to the community of Nzolenzu as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.
The items included medicines, sanitary products and money to establish a CHPS compound for the Nzolenzu community.
Presenting the items at a short ceremony in Half Assini, Rev. Eric Wussah, Leader of the Theovision Medical Outreach Team, said the donation was to support the completion of the CHPS compound project in Nzolenzu.
He expressed the hope that the commissioning would be done in October this year, as soon as the community completed the facility for the CHPS compound.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Nzolenzu community, Mr. Gabriel Yengliere, Municipal Health Coordinator of the Jomoro District, thanked Theovision for the support.
He said providing a CHPS compound for the Nzolenzu community had been on the agenda for a long time, but the lack of funds had made it impossible.
“We are grateful to Theovision for the intervention. We hope this will be the beginning of many more of such life-saving programmes,” he said.
The organization’s annual medical outreach was part of its corporate social responsibility, and its overall mission to show the love of God to all.
It is aimed at providing quality health care to people in remote communities who are unable to afford or access quality medical care.
The annual medical outreach programme saw a total of 2,431 cases treated, 300 emergency cases were reported, and 479 people were enrolled on the National Health lnsurance Scheme (NHIS).
Additionally, a total of 1,108 children were treated, and 218 sanitary pads distributed, while 460 souls gave their lives to Christ.
Theovision International is a non-profit Christian organisation dedicated to spreading the Gospel in indigenous languages using audio Bible, thus recordings of the Bible in different indigenous languages.
