Botokrom (B/R), Oct. 31, GNA-Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairperson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has entreated Ghanaians not to be dismayed but remained optimistic for a prosperous nation despite the current “economic mess”.
He maintained that the next National Democratic Congress (NDC) government would build a better society for all to live in comfortably.
Mr Nketiah said the NDC was aware of the economic hardship Ghanaians were going through now and advised the electorates to capitalise on the Election 2024, go out in their numbers and vote in the December 7, polls for the NDC to regain political power.
Addressing a political rally at Botokrom in the Berekum West Constituency, as part of his campaign visit to the Bono Region, Mr Nketiah said the NDC flagbearer, the former President John Dramani Mahama required their votes to form a better government.
He also asked them to vote for Mr Dickson Kyere-Duah, the NDC parliamentary candidate for the constituency too re-affirming that voting “skirt and blouse” would not augur well for an NDC administration.
Mr Nketiah said the electorate ought to be thoughtful enough to vote for the NDC which he added prioritised the efficient use of the country’s resources, criticising the government for undermining the local government structures.
That, he said, had resulted in the lack of funding to push community development and better the lives of the masses, saying the NDC government would ensure that local communities equally benefited from the sharing of the national cake.
Nana Amankona Diewuo II, the Chief of Botokrom, expressed concern about infrastructure challenges, high unemployment rate and lack of potable drinking water and poor sanitation in the area.
Similar political campaign rallies were held at Abisase and Nsapor in the constituency.
