Cario, Egypt, Oct 6, GNA – A total of 18 Journalists drawn from 14 countries on the continent have participated in the 57th Training Course for Young African Journalists in Cairo, Egypt.
The training which was organized by the Union of African Journalists (UAJ), in collaboration with the Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR), was designed to build the capacity of participants and empower them in delivering their mandate.
The three-week programme which began on September 16, 2023 took the participants through a series of pertinent topics affecting the African continent.
Notable among the topics were the Empowerment of women and the youth in the Sustainable Development Agenda, Food and water security in Africa, BRICS and the scramble for Africa and its Natural Resources, Mobile Journalism, Scientific Journalism, New Media and Artificial Intelligence among others.
The journalists who were from Ghana, Burkina Faso, Congo, Cote D’Ivoire, Cameroon, Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, Togo, Tunisia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe also paid working visits to selected Media House and toured the Egyptian capital, the city of Alexandria, the Pyramids and other places of interest.
