Manso Amenfi (W/R), May 13, GNA — Mrs Joana Gyan Cudjoe, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Wassa Amenfi Central in the Western Region, says the deplorable roads in the constituency are affecting economic and other daily activities in the area.

She noted that the bad state of the roads was having a negative impact on the economic activities of residents who were predominantly farmers.

“Due to the bad nature of the roads, drivers are unwilling to carry goods from some villages to the city, and that affect the livelihood and food security in the district and the nation as a whole.

“Even as an MP, sometimes I have to use motorbike to tour my communities for important activities,” Mrs Cudjoe said.

In terms of access to health care services and education the MP stated that the situation had dire implications on the people, and promised to lobby for the roads to be fixed to help bring relief to the constituents.

She said: “School pupils also walk long distance on foot to school due to poor road networks, which negatively affect education delivery in the constituency.

“But I promise to do my part as the MP to lobby the various ministries, especially roads and highways, transport, education, and COCOBOD to collaborate in finding a lasting solution to these challenges.”
