Takoradi, Nov. 12, GNA – The SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, as part of its GrEEn Project, has held a Curriculum Vitae (CV) Review Clinic for potential job seekers within the Western Region.
The clinic would help diagnose ill areas of CVs and edit for improvement to ensure that employers were served with the right information and competences by job seekers.
The programme formed part of SNV Ghana’s up-coming second annual GrEEn
Regional Job Fair in the Western Region, being organised in collaboration with the
Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) and the Ghana Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs
(GCYE).
Other partners are the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations, and Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, as part of the Boosting Green Employment and Enterprise Opportunities in Ghana (GrEEn) Project.
The 2022 GrEEn Job Fair is on the theme: “Green and Circular Economy: A Sure Way to Creating Decent & Sustainable Employment and Jobs’’.
Ms Gifty Afi Cudjoe, the Skills Development Advisor, SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, said the clinic was to prepare the youth for the job market and possibly link them to the potential employers.
Since 2020, SNV had organised 10 job fairs at the district and regional levels, in partnership with local assemblies to provide CV support, career guidance and counselling, as well as connecting job seekers to employers.
Madam Elizabeth Acquah, the Western Regional Director of the Labour Department, urged the labour market to work within the laws of the land for a serene labour front.
She called on employees to be more responsible in their day-to-day activities to shore up productivity, and entreated potential ones to develop good working relationship, build their capacity and be ready to serve to earn the confidence of employers.
The President of the Ghana Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs, Sherrif Ghali, said employers looked out for determined young people, teachable, honest, resilient and computer literate to add to their teams.
