It pointed out that the needs assessment, curriculum and faculty in relation to the programme were agreed upon by an independent working group of experts led by Professor Kwamena Kwansah-Aidoo, Rector of the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
“Faculty have been invited by the group from some of the nation’s leading communications schools and media houses,” the statement noted.
According to the Ministry, the programme had been designed to also provide scholarships for some 250 journalists to be trained annually, adding that the idea was to contribute to deepening media professionalism nationwide.
