Ada, Nov. 18, GNA – Madam Sarah Dugbakie Pobee, District Chief Executive (DCE) of Ada East has cautioned the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) students in the district to put their phones aside and focus on the examination.
“By Friday you’ll be done, put the phones off and concentrate on your books, focus on the exams, target the big schools in the country and further your education there,” she added.
Madam Pobee said it was about time the students strived and thrived in the BECE to raise the position of Ada on the BECE chats higher.
The DCE said this during a tour of some BECE centres in the district to encourage the students to take the education seriously.
She also donated hand sanitizers and facemask to the students and the teachers to encourage adherence to the COVID-19 protocols in the examination centres.
Centres visited include: Ocansey Kope Basic School, Big Ada Presby Junior High School, Bedeku Basic School, Kasseh Number one Basic School, Tamatoku Presby Basic School, Ocansey kope and Ada-Foah Methodist School.
At each centre, boxes of facemasks and hand sanitizers were presented to the students as the DCE distributed the facemasks and sanitizers to the candidates with the help of few members of the Assembly.
She stated, “Don’t look at me, I am just sharing the facemask and sanitizers to you, concentrate on the exams and make Ada proud”. Each student, was given facemasks and hand sanitizers.
The DCE wished the candidates the best of luck and asked for God’s protection and guidance for them throughout the examination period.
Madam Pobee urged the candidates to give out their best to justify the investment made on them by their parents or guardian; and appealed to them to maintain good behaviour and complete the examination successfully.
