NORSAAC donates PPE to 10 districts in the North

Tamale, May 29, GNA – NORSAAC, a Civil Society Organization (CSO) has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to 10 District Directorates of health in the Northern, North East, and the Savannah Regions to help in the response against COVID 19 in these regions.

The districts included the Central Gonja, West Gonja, Bunkprugu, Gushegu, Savelugu, and the Sagnarigu Municipal among others.

The 10 districts received some quantities of PPE including infrared thermometer guns, face masks, liquid soap, hand gloves, and alcohol-based hand sanitizers.

NORSAAC donated the items Tamale with support from AXIS, an NGO in Denmark, and funded by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA).

Mr Alhassan Mohammed Awal, the Executive Director for NORSAAC, who presented the PPE to the districts urged them to use the items efficiently to help them better respond to the fight against the spread of the COVID-19 in their districts.
He acknowledged the government’s efforts in curbing the spread of COVID-19 and urged members of the public to adjust to the new normal way of living, by observing the safety protocols recommended by the government to help curb the spread of the disease.

Mr Dubik Daniel Dindiok, the Central Gonja District Director of Health, speaking on behalf of the beneficiary districts thanked NORSAAC for the support and urged them and other donor organizations to do more to support the health sector in the response against the disease.
