Accra, Feb. 27, GNA – Derek Abrefa and Emmanuel Commey, Ghana’s top seeds in Table Tennis, on Wednesday, left for Tunis, Tunisia to compete in the qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
They are expected to face the best players on the continent of Africa to vie for slots at the global competition.
Commey who won the recent 2020 Chairman’s Cup in Accra is confident picking a place in the global competition.
“I would play my heart out in the competition because I am keen on making a representation at the next Olympic Games.
“The Chairman’s Cup came at the right time for me. It has put me in the best of shapes for the competition,” he added.
Abrefa who had been in the United States of America (USA) in the past months was also confident of making it to the Olympic Games.
