Sunyani, Dec. 16, GNA – The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has congratulated Mr Dickson Kyere Duah, the ‘Brong-Ahafo’ Regional Vice Chair of the Association for his election as the Berekum West Member of Parliament (MP-elect) in the Bono Region.
It also congratulated the Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif for his re-election as the MP for the Yagaba-Kubori Constituency and Mr Jerry Ahmed Shaib, the President of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation and Deputy Secretary-General of the Ghana Olympic as the MP-elect for the Weija-Gbawe constituency.
A statement issued and signed by Mr Kwabena Yeboah, the President of SWAG and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) sports in Sunyani says “Mr Duah, also the ‘Brong-Ahafo’ Regional Vice Chair of the Association won his parliamentary seat on his third attempt.
“His resilience, hard work, commitment to promoting sports development in the region and his dedication to public service are truly commendable,” it stated.
The statement acknowledged that “Mr Ussif’s dedication to promoting youth empowerment in his community and sports development in Ghana has been evident in his work.”
It added that “Mr Shaib also emerged victorious in the parliamentary elections and his leadership and expertise in sports administration will undoubtedly be valuable assets”
The statement said, “SWAG is proud and sure these friends in parliament will make significant contributions to the sports ecosystem”.
