Accra, July 15, GNA – The Rotary Club of Accra – Airport East (RCAAE), has called on its members to consolidate the gains made by the club while it takes up new challenges and raises the bar in service to society.

This, it said was the only way to attract new quality members, and continue making an impact.

Mr William A. Adjabui, the new President of the RCAAE made the call in a speech at the swearing-in of newly elected club executives for the 2024-2025 year.

He acknowledged the efforts of past executives of the club, and said it was time to build the social and communal cohesion of the club.

That, he said, would help the club to break new barriers with service projects they would execute.

Mr Adjabui revealed that the new executives had drafted a number of ambitious initiatives and strategies to pursue, and appealed to the members of the club to support them to achieve their goal.

He said, without the active participation and support of club members, the initiatives could not be achieved.

He noted that it was the only way the club would continue to make an impact in society.

“We therefore have no excuse but to take this club to the next level,” he said.

He thanked the members for the confidence reposed in them and urged them to be part of the process in building the club.

Madam Louise Agyeman-Barning, the outgoing president of the club commended members for their successful fundraising events and impactful projects.

The projects included the presentation of computers to the Klilor Unity ICT laboratory in the Volta Region and its commissioning; a presentation of equipment to beneficiaries of the club’s Girl Child Empowerment project, and a joint breast cancer and health screening programs at Madina and Akosombo.

Others included tree planting exercises at the Teshie Technical Training Centre, and Katamanso; cleaning and tree planting exercises at the Regional Maritime University, as well as a community engagement on conflict prevention, peace and security in the 2024 general election.

The achievements, she said, had been possible because of the dedication and hard work of the club’s members.

She urged the members to extend the same support to the new executives.

“I have no doubt that our club will continue to flourish under their capable leadership,” she added.
