Assembly Member decries deployable telecommunications and road networks

Kofi Nimo (E/R), Jan. 30, GNA – Mr Vincent Amakye, Assembly Member for the Half-Assini Electoral Area in the Akyemansa District within the Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency of the Eastern Region has expressed concern over the poor telecommunications and road networks in the area.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Kofi Nimo, a community in the Half-Assini Electoral Area, Mr Amakye noted that telecommunications networks were very bad in the area adding that it was very difficult to receive and make calls in the area.

He added that the Member of Parliament for the Ofoase-Ayirebi Constituency, has, however, pledged to facilitate the resolution of the telecommunications challenges.

Mr Amakye also expressed concern about the dusty nature of their roads which was affecting the health of the residents and appealed to the government to fast track its action in fixing the roads in the areas.

The Half-Assini Assembly Member again added that residents would have to travel long distances on the poor roads for health care in other communities.

“We are dying from the dusty road and the government must act now,” he said.

According to the Assembly Member, the residents have mobilized resources to put up a community health facility but due to financial constraints the project has stalled, saying the government through its development agencies must as a matter of urgency support the community to complete the health facility for use by the residents.
