Ho, Nov 5, GNA – This year’s Anlo Hogbetsotso Za promises tradition meeting entertainment in grand style, with Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale headlining major events.
Stonebwoy, born Livingstone Etse Satekla, together with MzVee (Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda) will perform at Lalana Beach in Anloga on Saturday, November 07, while Shatta Wale will headline the Hogbetsotso Sunday Beach Concert at Eli Beach Resort & Hotel in Tegbi on Sunday, November 08.
However, EdemFest, which was scheduled for November 07 at Emancipation Beach, had been postponed. The organisers, Volta Regime Music Group (VRMG), in a statement November 02, said a strategic opportunity had emerged and a new date would be announced later.
The statement said Edem considered the decision as a move that would create greater value for the region and apologised for the change, while VRMG confirmed the Jubilee Radio Health Walk would still go ahead without the artist.
Other activities to expect include the Xetoto Arts Festival, Tsadidi Street Art Festival, Keta To The World Concert, Mama Hogbe Beauty Pageant and Brotherhood of Anlo (a non-profit group of young Anlo men) Volleyball Competition scheduled for November 05 to 08.
The Tsadidi Street Art, created by Ghanaian walking artist, Glenn Sam for instance, will take place from November 06 to 08, at Fort Prinzenstein, Keta, bringing together street art, culture, heritage and creative expression in the historic coastal destination and will feature art processions, fashion and art exhibitions as well as mural graffiti across the town of Keta.
Organisers of the 2026 Hogbetsotso festival in an interview with Ghana News Agency invited festival lovers and cultural enthusiasts to make plans for the biggest event on the Anlos’ calendar and to come experience the magic of Anlo.
Celebrated every first Saturday in November at Anloga, the traditional and ritual capital of the Anlo Dukor, Hogbetsotso Festival (also known as Hogbeza) attracts chiefs and people across Eweland, other parts of the country and from the diaspora to witness the display of rich tradition and culture of the Anlo people.
This year’s celebration is being held under the theme, “Anlo, Our Heritage and Our Values: Striving to Build One Ghana for a Better Tomorrow.”
