Takoradi, Nov. 03, GNA – The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) has scheduled Saturday, November 7, 2026, for the observance of National Sanitation Day across the metropolis as part of efforts to maintain cleanliness and reduce sanitation-related diseases.
A statement issued by the Assembly and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said a general clean-up exercise would be organised from 0600 hours to 1200 hours to mark the occasion.

It called on residents to actively participate by desilting choked gutters, clearing refuse, sweeping public spaces and weeding overgrown areas to help improve environmental sanitation within the metropolis.
“The STMA urges Assembly Members, traditional authorities, religious leaders, companies and organised groups to lead their community members, followers and staff in cleaning their immediate surroundings,” the statement said.
The Assembly emphasised that collective action and community participation remained essential in promoting a clean environment and preventing the outbreak of sanitation-related diseases.
