Policy credibility strengthening Ghana’s economic fundamentals – BoG

By Jibril Abdul Mumuni

Accra, Nov. 3, GNA – The Bank of Ghana (BoG) says sustained monetary and fiscal discipline is strengthening the country’s economic fundamentals and enhancing investor confidence.

The Bank’s October 2026 Investor Bulletin said recent macroeconomic indicators pointed to a more stable economic environment characterised by lower inflation, stronger external buffers and improved fiscal performance.

It said inflation remained within the medium-term target band, while growth in international reserves and a stable foreign exchange market had reinforced economic resilience.

The bulletin noted that ongoing fiscal consolidation efforts had also supported macroeconomic stability and improved perceptions of Ghana’s creditworthiness among investors and rating agencies.

Lower interest rates were easing financing costs for businesses, while strong banking sector performance continued to support economic activity.

The bulletin highlighted rising private sector credit, strong export earnings and improved external balances as evidence of growing confidence in the economy.

It reaffirmed the BoG’s commitment to maintaining price stability and supporting policies aimed at sustaining growth, preserving financial sector stability and attracting investment.
