Asankragwa (W/R), Nov. 04, GNA – Mr Thomas Andoh, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Secretary for Amenfi West, has declared his intention to contest the party’s parliamentary primaries in the constituency ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Mr Andoh, who is also the Assembly Member for the Bekwai Electoral Area in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality, said he had successfully completed his online registration and formally submitted his declaration of intent.

He has served as an Assembly Member since 2019 and is a District Manager of Federated Commodities PLC (FEDCO) and Cocoa Merchants Ghana Limited.

Mr Andoh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), with graduation expected in December 2026.

Since his election in 2019, he has served on several committees of the Wassa Amenfi West Municipal Assembly, including the Finance and Administration Sub-Committee, Works Sub-Committee and Executive Committee (EXECO).

He currently serves on the Assembly’s Social Services and Security Sub-Committees.

His declaration followed a directive by the NPP National Executive Committee asking prospective parliamentary aspirants to formally declare their intention to contest the party’s parliamentary primaries ahead of the 2028 general elections.

At a press conference on Thursday, October 29, 2026, the party announced that its online portal, PPC.nppghana.org, would be opened from November 1 to November 10, 2026, to enable interested members to register their intention.

Mr Andoh said his decision to contest was informed by careful reflection and a strong desire to contribute meaningfully to the development of the constituency and the growth of the NPP.

He said his aspiration was anchored on the principles of unity, discipline, inclusiveness, accountability and service to the people.

“I believe that Amenfi West deserves purposeful leadership, stronger party organisation and a collective commitment to addressing the needs and aspirations of our communities,” he said.

Mr Andoh pledged to respect the party’s constitution, established structures, electoral guidelines and all relevant procedures throughout the electoral process.

He acknowledged that the journey required humility, consultation, mutual respect and cooperation, and expressed appreciation to traditional authorities, opinion leaders, party members and sympathisers for their support and guidance.

He also called on all stakeholders to work together to promote peace and unity within the party, saying; “Together, let us build a united and progressive NPP.”

Mr Andoh is expected to face other prospective aspirants as the party prepares to elect its parliamentary candidate to contest the 2028 general elections in the Amenfi West Constituency.
