Ho, Oct. 3 GNA – Dr Stanley Glate, Volta Region National Democratic Congress Secretary aspirant Saturday sent a solidarity message to the people affected by the recent floods at Hohoe in the Volta region.
He stated that “at this difficult moment what matters most is compassion, solidarity, and standing together.”
Dr Glate said their pains were felt; their struggles matter whilst their strength inspired them.
He stated that behind every flooded home was a family facing uncertainty; every lost possession was a story, a livelihood, and memories that could not simply be replaced.
“To every affected family and individual, please know that you are not alone, our hearts are with you,” he noted.
Dr Glate assured those who were affected and displaced that their hearts were with them.
He hoped that relief would reach every affected household and that families would found safety and comfort adding “may Hohoe rise again with renewed strength and hope.”
Most parts of Hohoe, especially the Zongo community, were on Monday, September 30, 2026 flooded following several hours of torrential rainfall which caused River Dayi to overflow its banks.
Over 5,000 residents were displaced whilst about 412 houses were affected by the flooding, some of which collapsed.
