Vodza (VR), Oct. 12, GNA-Vodza Iron Breakers, the Champions of the 2025 Beach Soccer Premier League, have presented their trophy to the chiefs, elders and people of Vodza in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region, following their historic triumph at Ada.

The presentation ceremony, held at Vodza, was marked by excitement, pride and jubilation as community members gathered and welcomed the team and celebrated its achievement in bringing national sporting honours to the area.

Mr Joshua Kukuia, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the club, during the presentation on behalf of the team, introduced the players and members of the technical team to the elders and expressed appreciation for the support and encouragement received throughout the season.

“This occasion has provided an opportunity for our players and technical team to interact with community leaders, reflect on their successful campaign and seek support to strengthen the club’s operations and sustain its achievements,” he said.

He recounted the club’s journey to winning the 2025 Beach Soccer Premier League and stated that the triumph was the result of determination, teamwork, discipline and the collective commitment of the players and technical handlers.

Mr Kukuia said the team had faced several challenges during the season but remained focused on its ambition to win the competition and bring honour to Vodza and the entire Keta Municipality and Volta Region as well.

“The victory is not only a milestone for the club but also a source of pride for the Vodza community, this achievement demonstrates the potential of beach soccer to promote local talent and enhance the sporting image of our municipality and the region as whole.”

Mr Kukuia further appealed to the chiefs, elders, corporate organizations, philanthropists, the Keta Municipal Assembly and the government to support the club in addressing its operational challenges, particularly the need for a team bus and regular allowances for players.

He explained that a dedicated team bus would facilitate transportation for training sessions and away matches, reduce logistical difficulties and help the team prepare adequately for future competitions, while regular allowances, he added, would motivate players and encourage greater commitment to the club.

Mr Agbe Kaleawo, the Chief Fisherman of Vodza, who spoke on behalf of the community, congratulated the team for the achievement and expressed pride in the honour the team had brought to the community, and assured the players and technical team of the community’s continued support.

Mr Christopher Mensah, the Assembly Member for the area and Presiding Member of the Keta Municipal Assembly, who also witnessed the ceremony, also pledged his support for the club’s growth and sustainability.

He said the achievement of Vodza Iron Breakers had placed Keta prominently on the national sporting map and deserved encouragement from community leaders, public institutions and other stakeholders.

The elders offered prayers for the team and encouraged the players to maintain discipline, unity and dedication as they prepared for future competitions, including continental assignments, while the ceremony ended amid jubilation, with community members taking turns to take photographs with the trophy and celebrate the club’s historic achievement.
