Washington, Oct 27. (dpa/GNA) – The US State Department will issue visas to the defeated Brazilian presidential candidate, Flávio Bolsonaro and his family, for entry into the US, a government official told dpa on Tuesday.
Media reports earlier on Tuesday said. Bolsonaro was planning to leave for the United States via Argentina. Bolsonaro had failed to comply with an order from Supreme Federal Court judge Alexandre de Moraes, to hand over his passports.
Moraes had ordered him to surrender the passports within 24 hours. At the same time, he had the documents annulled and banned Bolsonaro from leaving the country.
In a video released on Monday, Bolsonaro said he would surrender his passports and challenge what he described as an unjustified measure.
He denied having any intention of leaving the country.
