Nyinahin (Ash) Oct 01, GNA – Three undergraduate students from Atwima Mponua district of the Ashanti region have been granted scholarships to pursue their Master’s degrees programme at the Konya Food and Agriculture University in Turkiye.
They are Messrs. Vincent Anning, Douglas Gyebi and Mohammed Karim from Nyinahin, Agogoso and Nyinawusu, in the district.
They are expected to return to the district after the two-year Master’s degree program to support agricultural production, which is the economic backbone of the area with their knowledge, skills, and experience.
The scholarship package was sponsored by the Atwima Mponua District Assembly in conjunction with His Excellency, Sheikh Abdul Nasir-Deen, Ghana Ambassador to the Republic of Turkiye, who hails from the district.
Mr Issahak Ibrahim, the District Chief Executive, addressing the beneficiaries at Nyinahin on Wednesday, said the three add up to five, the number of students who have been sponsored to pursue Master’s degree programme in the district.
Five other beneficiaries would also be going to further their education in February next year.
He explained that it was his vision to work hard to create opportunities for all deserving individuals across all sectors as a legacy to the people particularly, the youth in the area.
“I continue to cast my net as widely as possible, seeking opportunities that can possibly transform the lives of the people”, he stated.
He commended the beneficiaries for securing the package and urged them to remain disciplined, focused and committed to excellence, adding that their success would inspire the other youth to aim high and become ambitious.
Mr. Vincent Anning thanked the Assembly, the government, and the Ambassador for the package and pledged their commitment to the district after the studies.
