Italy, Oct 8.(Redazione/Adnkronos/GNA) – The timely intervention of security personnel, prevented a man from committing suicide.
The man, a resident in the province of Padua, had left home in his car with suicidal intentions, his his family said.
His family,upon his departure, alerted the Padua carabinieri, who managed to locate his mobile phone in the Misurina area in Auronzo di Cadore (Belluno).
The carabinieri of Cortina d’Ampezzo then launched a search in the area, and located the man’s car hidden among the vegetation, in a wood about 60 meters from a road.
The car had the engine on, the headlights off, the doors sealed with electrical tape, while a plastic tube connected to the exhaust was pouring fumes into the passenger compartment.
The man was found inside the car and unconscious. The military extracted him from the passenger compartment, and transported him to Belluno hospital, due to severe intoxication.
He is currently hospitalized but is said to be stable and out of life threatening danger
The carabinieri, serves as one of Italy’s major state security agencies.
