Cape Coast, Oct. 20, GNA – The sixth Inter-Tourism Expo Accra (INTTA) opens in Cape Coast on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 with a renewed drive to position tourism as a catalyst for job creation, investment and community-led development in the Central Region.

The three-day expo will bring together more than 300 tourism and hospitality professionals, investors, government officials, financial institutions, entrepreneurs, development partners, innovators and international delegates.

Participants will explore opportunities in tourism, trade, agribusiness, ecotourism, digital innovation, infrastructure and regional industrial development.

Exhibitors and development partners from Ghana, the United States and other parts of Africa are expected to attend the event at the plush Ridge Royal Hotel.

It is on the theme: “6th INTTA and the 24-hour Africa economy, agribusiness, digital sovereignty and African Continental Free Trade Area Industrial Acceleration Conference and Investment Programme.”

The expo seeks to bring public- and private-sector stakeholders together to identify investment opportunities, strengthen institutional partnerships and convert discussions into commercially viable initiatives.

The opening of the programme will feature diplomatic and diaspora remarks, cultural performances, a keynote address, a masterclass on tourism as infrastructure investment and a public-private partnership forum on advancing Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy agenda.

A policy keynote address by Mr Augustus Obuadum Tanoh, the Presidential Adviser at Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy Authority, is scheduled, alongside a fireside chat on positioning tourism as a driver of Ghana’s round-the-clock transformation.

The Youth Creative Changemakers Innovation Zone will also provide a platform for selected youth-led ventures and creative initiatives in tourism, technology, trade, agribusiness and the creative economy to present their ideas to delegates, investors and industry leaders.

Mr Emmanuel Treku, the Executive Director of INTTA, said at a pre-event press briefing that the decision to move the expo to the Central Region after five editions in Accra was to showcase Ghana’s tourism potential beyond the capital.

He described the Region as Ghana’s tourism hub, highlighting its heritage assets, natural attractions and investment opportunities.

He stressed that tourism would succeed only through the active involvement of host communities, traditional authorities, local assemblies and businesses in packaging and promoting the destination’s products.

Mr Treku also urged that festivals and heritage celebrations be linked to a clear development agenda that produced measurable economic benefits for host communities.

He said events such as fashion festivals could inspire residents and the diaspora to invest, establish businesses and support services, thereby making the Region more competitive.

Registration and participation details are available on the official INTTA website.
