Accra, Oct. 08, GNA – The Treasury Departments of the South West Ghana Union Conference (SWGUC) and the South East Ghana Union Mission (SEGUM) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church have held a four-day joint workshop to strengthen financial management, accountability and transparency within the Church.
The workshop, hosted by SEGUM, brought together treasurers, associate treasurers and other treasury personnel from the two unions and their respective fields in the southern sector of the Church.
A statement issued by the Communication Department of SEGUM said Dr Daniel Adofo-Ameyaw, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of SWGUC, led its delegation, while Dr Isaac Owusu-Dankwa, Treasurer and CFO of SEGUM, led the SEGUM team.
It said the workshop focused on budgeting, planning and responsible resource management, equipping participants with practical knowledge and skills to enhance financial administration within the Church.
The programme also provided a platform for participants to share experiences, review existing practices and explore practical approaches to strengthening accountability and transparency across the various fields.
As part of the programme, participants paid a working visit to the SEGUM headquarters in Tema, where they interacted with the Mission’s leadership and staff and exchanged ideas on ways to deepen collaboration between the two unions.
The statement said the initiative formed part of ongoing efforts by SWGUC and SEGUM to promote sound financial administration and responsible resource management in support of the Church’s mission and ministry.
It said participants renewed their commitment to applying the knowledge and experiences gained from the workshop to improve treasury practices across their respective unions and fields.
