Ziavi (V/R), Oct. 17, GNA – Residents of Ziavi, Tsyome, Anfoeta, Bame and surrounding communities have appealed to the Government to urgently rehabilitate the Ho–Ziavi–Tsyome–Anfoeta–Bame and Ho–Ziavi–Akrofu roads, to prevent accidents.
Madam Gloria Ama Agbesi, the Assembly Member for the Ziavi Electoral Area, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that efforts to improve the condition of the road had been futile and called for urgent intervention.
The Assembly Members’ appeal followed complaints about the deteriorating condition of the roads, which posed serious risks to road users.
The Sokode Gborgame–Akrofu road is alleged to have been awarded to Bumecom for construction, but residents had expressed concern about the apparent lack of substantial progress.
They therefore called on the relevant authorities to clarify the project’s status, provide information on the contractor’s work schedule, and ensure that construction proceeded without unnecessary delays.
The road links several farming communities to Ho and other district capitals in the Volta Region, where they sell their farm produce and the current situation had increased cost of transportation.
