Nkwanta (O/R), Oct. 16, GNA- Motorists, motorcyclists, pedestrians, and other road users have been urged to exercise patience and strictly observe road safety protocols as construction work progresses on the Dambai–Nkwanta stretch of road.

Madam Celestina Damoah, the Public Relations Officer (PRO), of Eagle Star Enterprise Limited has said the cooperation of road users is essential to ensuring the safety of workers, motorists, and residents while allowing the contractor to execute the project smoothly and on time.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on road safety concerns as work progressed on the stretch, Madam Damoah appealed to traditional authorities, community leaders, opinion leaders, and other stakeholders to support the project by educating residents in communities along the road corridor on the need to protect construction materials and equipment.

She cautioned residents against tampering with, removing, or interfering with materials supplied for the project, stressing that safeguarding these resources would help prevent unnecessary delays and facilitate timely completion of the road works.

She emphasised that collective responsibility of community members and other stakeholders is crucial to ensuring that the project achieves its intended objectives

The PRO urged the residents of Nkwanta and its surrounding communities to cooperate with the contractor, adhere to safety instructions, and demonstrate a strong sense of ownership by protecting materials and equipment meant for the project.

The Dambai–Nkwanta road project forms part of the government’s ‘Big Push’ infrastructure agenda, which seeks to improve road connectivity and facilitate transportation and economic activities.

Madam Damoah expressed hope that with the support of residents, traditional authorities, road users, and other stakeholders, the project would progress smoothly and bring the anticipated benefits to communities along the corridor.
