Accra, Oct. 24, GNA – Mr Vincent Ekow Assafuah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Old Tafo, has donated GH¢10,000 to Ghana’s national amputee football team, the Black Challenge, ahead of the 2026 Amputee Football World Cup in Mexico.
The MP presented the cash donation during a visit to the team’s training camp at a hotel in Achimota, Accra, where he also donated cartons of bottled water and soft drinks.
The gesture, he said was aimed at boosting the morale of the players as they intensify preparations for the global tournament, scheduled for November 13-22, 2026, in San Juan de los Lagos, Mexico.
Mr Assafuah commended the team for their dedication and commitment to representing Ghana on the international stage and encouraged them to remain focused on achieving success at the competition.
He also pledged to mobilise additional support for the Black Challenge and called on individuals, corporate bodies and other stakeholders to contribute towards the team’s World Cup preparations.
Ghana would be seeking to make a strong impact at the tournament against some of the world’s leading amputee football nations.
The donation underscores the growing support for the Black Challenge as they seek to fly Ghana’s flag high at the World Cup in Mexico.
