The incident reportedly occurred at about 2100 hours on Thursday, at a new site near the One District, One Factory (1D1F) cassava processing factory.

Mr Winfred Kwabla Dakunya, Assembly Member of the area, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the alleged suspect, identified as Kwame Tsali, believed to be in his 30s and a native of Lotakor, was yet to be apprehended.

He said a woman connected to the incident, who was relatively new to the community, had reportedly informed the police that her husband was responsible for the alleged killing.

He added that the motorbike was reportedly found parked in the suspect’s room after the incident.

The circumstances surrounding the alleged killing remain unclear, and the suspect is reportedly on the run.

Mr Dakunya appealed to residents of Akame and neighbouring communities to remain calm and allow the police to investigate the incident.

He urged anyone with relevant information that could assist in locating the suspect to cooperate with the police.
